Nicolas Namoradze’s return to Wigmore Hall was met with critical acclaim, hailed by Seen & Heard International as “a simply superb recital” and “a magisterial performance, an absolute masterclass in piano playing.”
The first half of the programme featured a carefully conceived alternation of works by Scriabin and Bach, drawing out connections between their harmonic languages and structural clarity.

Scriabin: Piano Sonata No. 2 in G sharp minor, Op. 19
After the interval, he performed Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 29 in B-flat major, Op. 106, the “Hammerklavier” — one of the most demanding and substantial works in the piano repertoire. As an encore, Namoradze offered his own piano transcription of Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe, a work of orchestral richness reimagined for solo piano.
